STATIC GUARDING
At Island we work with all our clients to provide a wide range of manned guarding services that best suits their individual needs. Our security teams can provide a large number of important security functions from static guards patrolling a site, concierge and reception security service, CCTV control room operation and customer service roles.
The advantage of having a Manned Security over Mobile Patrols or CCTV & Alarm monitoring is that you are able to get a much quicker response to problems and issues than is possible through other alarm response solutions. Studies have shown that most criminals would anticipate that their crime needs to be committed within 2-5 minutes of gaining access, so other response times are too slow in comparison with a static guard who is based on and patrolling a site/ facility. Additionally, security guards can also inspect your premises and make recommendations that will minimise your risks of theft and accidents or any other criminal activity.
Our Static Guarding prevents crimes and also provides increased safety and security. The security officer prevents crimes by being visible in the determined area, observing and making unscheduled external inspections and reporting on events. In the event there is a suspected crime, the security officer will report directly to the PSNI. With Static Guarding, monitoring of your company’s security can be concentrated to one place. Together, we do a risk assessment of the company and Island’s static security officers then use the result of the assessment as the basis for their work.
If required we can utilise an Electronic Check Point System to ensure complete accountability to our Clients. The check point system is a point to point recordable system, whereby every patrol is logged and the time it was checked. The main components this system are a handheld data collector, location checkpoints and management software. Checkpoints are fixed to locations to be visited, and the worker carries a robust handheld data collector which they use to read the checkpoint when it is visited. The checkpoints identification number and time of the visit is recorded by the data collector. The system is ideal to determine the location of security guards where security and safety checks need to be done.
Island Events offer a fully insured static guarding service holding both Security Guard Public Liability Insurance & Security Guard Employers Liability Insurance.

All our guards are licensed and regularly CRB Checked and fully vetted in accordance with the British Standards 7858 Criteria. All our Security Officers are very experienced in this field and are confident in carrying out their duties.
As part of our Static Guarding services we offer the following:
- Accountability through your dedicated contract manager with regular review meetings & ongoing Risk Assessments
- Accountability of all equipment and plant at the start and end of shift.
- Access Control to your premises or site, checking identification of persons entering/leaving, ensuring only authorized visitors gain access to the site.
- Monitoring of CCTV ensures that all activity on site is viewed and acted on immediately, when necessary.
- Locking and Un-Locking of premises, providing you with complete peace of mind.
- Security patrols of the site to handle any attempts at trespassing/vandalism
